Art is... [ essential ]
Welcome to MB Art! My name is Mark Ballard and I am a graphic artist, cartoonist and web designer who specializes in colorful abstract and portrait art from Dallas, Texas.
I've always been an artist at heart. Since I was a wee, little lad, I have been drawn to anything and everything colorful and creative.
After being punished multiple times for thinking the walls were too plain and needed more color, my mom taught me what a sketchbook was for, gave me some crayons and sent me outside. So, I started drawing the flowers and trees and that was the beginning of my art journey.
I've fallen in love with bold and vibrant color. I've spent hours just gazing at and studying the intricate details of the Imago Dei; the faces of people made in the image of God. There's a lot of beauty to behold and I long to capture it; to enhance it's magnificence in my frail, imperfect way.

A lot has changed since my finger painting days, and my passion for creating has only grown stronger, but even still, I think the walls could always use a little more color.
